This was the plunge pool of the Fairmont Hotel in 1929. In 1945, a Hollywood set designer turned it into a tiki wonderland. It hasn't changed since.
The Scorpion Bowl
It serves four people. It comes with 3-foot long straws. It’s the fastest way to start a fun night.

There is no sign outside. You ring a buzzer and give the password. Inside, it’s a labyrinth of secret rooms disguised as a library.
House Rules
"Speak easy." No shouting, no cell phone use at the bar, no photography. It preserves the illicit 1920s atmosphere.

Part bar, part museum, part library. Run by the Long Now Foundation, it houses prototypes for a clock designed to run for 10,000 years.
